HOW WE WORK

Initial Contact
We listen to you and discuss the expectations and desires you have for your new home, renovation, or addition. During this exchange of ideas, we will go over the Site Plan/Location Survey, Architectural Style, Square Footage, Universal Design and Accessibility, Interior/Exterior Finishes, and Budget for your project. A design proposal will be generated with a cost estimate. Once you approve the proposal, we begin the Design Phase.

Design Phase
We start this process with a design concept based on our initial consultation and we will work closely with you to develop a preliminary design. You will review the preliminary design drawings and make suggestions for desired changes. These scaled drawings can then be used for preliminary planning and cost estimating prior to the construction document phase.

Construction Document Phase
This phase is where preliminary design and concepts are turned into Home Plans, otherwise known as construction documents. The Plans are prepared as a "builder's set" format and they include the following: 3D Renderings, All Elevations, Floor Plans, Foundation Plan, Roof Plan, Cross-Sections and necessary construction details. These documents are required for constructing the home, obtaining financing, bids from contractors and acquiring a building permit per current code.
It is my love of architecture that led me to a career in Residential Design.
My early experience working in the building industry provided valuable knowledge that launched my twenty plus years as a home designer. It is a gratifying experience to develop buildable plans that provide both Form and Function.
I work with clients throughout the Eastern Shore designing new homes, renovations and additions, from Cape Charles, VA, Easton, MD, Rehoboth Beach, DE and all points in between. Designing all Architectural Styles whether the vision for your home is Coastal Style, Modern Farmhouse, or Traditional I can transform your ideas and must-haves into spaces that work for your lifestyle and aesthetic. My experience with both clients and builders enables me to see hundreds of projects come into fruition.
My partner, Karen, also shares my passion for design. She is involved in the day-to-day aspects of the business. Using her Fine Arts background, she finds creative solutions for spaces with aesthetic appeal and functional design.
